Job Vacancies for Community Care Advisors

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a private, non-profit educational and scientific organization. Since 1971, (MSH) bas worked with its worldwide partners to improve the management of and access to health services such as primary health care, child survival, maternal and child health, family planning, and reproductive health. The above position will provide technical assistance aimed at improving the lives of children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in project state.

The goal of this project is to deliver care and support activities to OVC as well as palliative care Program intervention include care and support for children affected by HIV/AIDS paediatric home-base care, gender; stigma and discrimination and program related data collection and analysis. The Community Care and support (CCS) Advisor will provide suppnrt and technical assistance aimed at improving the lives of children and families affected by HIV and AIDS. The emphasis of the CCS Advisor Technical support is to be in charge of all progrmmatic issues dealing with community participation and ownership of ovc activities in and around their geographic areas of operations specifically.

Responsibilities will include to Lead the capacity and need assssments of local community organizations in project states and use data to design collaborative solutions and houshold-centered approach, Lead the delivery of services to OVC through strengthening state and LGA structures and systems, Build community ownership and participation in OVC programming at community level to ensure sure sustainability, Support the training of caregivers to better cater to the need of OVC, Strategically coordinate stakeholder response to ovc activities through linking up traditional and religious leaders with government and civil society to cater to the needs of ovc holistically, Support project, state and L.G.A teams to mobilize resources to enable CBOs identify, protect, and provide essential sevices to OVC, Work with the OVC Advisor to implement the CUBS project community ? based response to roll out national OVC guidelines, Support the M&E Advisor to ensure quality community - based services through ongoing progrmm M&E, Support the Gender Advisor to incorporate gender considerations in to local programs, Work with federal and state ministry of woman affairs, USAID, and other USGOVC partners to establish linkages in communities affected families, and ovc services. Any other deities as assigned by the Chief of party.

REQUIREMENTS
-Candidate must have Masters degree or Bachelors degree with equivalent experience in social Sciences, public health or related field
-Expertise in OVC program design and implementation monitoring and evaluation
-Experience developing relationship with community based organizations provincial and district level government officials
-Minimum of 6 years experience in community work, social work in addition to one of the following HIV/AIDS, TB,STI and or child survival/ IMCI project in African countries, preferably Nigeria
-Knowledge and understanding of the peadiatric home base care, gender, stigma and discrimination
-Ability to work independently
-Willingness to travel extensively.
